Terms of Use

Last updated: October 8, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of this website and any tattoo or artwork services obtained from Pat Bisson Studio. By browsing this site, using the contact form, booking an appointment, or placing an order in the online store, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this site.

1.Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and Pat Bisson Studio, the art studio operated by Patrick Bisson, a sole proprietor based in Gatineau, Québec, Canada. They apply to every page of this website, to messages sent through the contact form, and to services arranged through this site.

By using this site or requesting an appointment, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you do not accept them, please discontinue use of the site.

These terms apply alongside the Privacy Policy. Together, the Privacy Policy and these terms form the entire agreement between us regarding your use of this website. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.

2.About the studio

Pat Bisson Studio is the working name of the visual art practice of Patrick Bisson, a visual artist and tattoo artist operating from Gatineau, Québec. The studio produces original paintings, illustrations and custom tattoo work, primarily for clients in the Ottawa–Gatineau region.

Business hours, availability, pricing and studio location are subject to change. Information published on this site is provided for general information and does not guarantee that a service will be available in any particular week.

3.Permitted use of this website

You may browse this site, view the portfolio, and contact the studio for legitimate purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of the studio, its clients, or anyone else.
  • Reproduce, republish, resell, or commercially exploit the artwork, photographs, illustrations, text, or design of this site without written permission.
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract the content of this site, or submit the contact form automatically, by any means.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, its back-end systems, or the password-protected client directions.
  • Introduce malicious code, or use automated systems that degrade the site or its availability for others.
  • Impersonate the studio or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

4.Artwork and intellectual property

All artwork, photographs, drawings, tattoo designs, text, logos, and site design on this website are the property of Patrick Bisson and are protected by copyright. Pat Bisson Studio retains all rights to this material, including the right to grant permission for its use.

Viewing the portfolio does not grant you any licence to reproduce the work. Personal, non-commercial enjoyment of the images is welcome. Commercial use, including using artworks as merchandise, wall art to sell, tattoo flash, prints, or as reference material for work you commission elsewhere, requires prior written permission.

Tattoo designs and artwork remain the intellectual property of the artist even after they are tattooed, painted, or sold. Clients are granted the right to display the finished work on their own body or in their own space. The artist retains the right to photograph the work and to use those images in this portfolio and in promotional material.

If you believe any material on this site infringes your copyright, write to the studio with enough detail for the claim to be assessed. The studio will respond and will remove or amend material where appropriate.

5.Tattoo services, consultations and bookings

Requesting an appointment through this site is an enquiry, not a confirmed booking. A session is confirmed only when the studio has received your deposit and has confirmed the date in writing.

Tattoo design is collaborative, and every design is created for the individual client. Where a client has agreed to a specific reference, concept, or composition, the final tattoo will interpret that material rather than reproduce it exactly. Major changes to an agreed concept may require a new consultation.

A deposit is required to hold an appointment. Deposits are described in the Client Center and may be applied to the final price of the session as stated in the quote.

Sessions are scheduled to allow enough time for the work to be completed properly. Arriving late shortens the session, and the studio may reschedule rather than rush a piece. Clients are asked to arrive a little early so that the design can be reviewed and placed before work begins.

6.Eligibility, health and safety

The studio asks about health, allergies, medications, pregnancy, and previous tattoos before a session. You agree to answer these questions honestly and completely, and to tell the studio about any change to your health that arises before your appointment.

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian who is present at the session. Clients under 18 must be accompanied throughout the appointment.

You agree to follow the preparation and aftercare instructions in the Client Center before and after your session. Following them is a condition of receiving the service, because aftercare materially affects healing and the final result.

The studio may decline or cancel any session where it reasonably believes the service would be unsafe, where information provided is incomplete or inconsistent, or where a client is intoxicated or behaving in a way that threatens the safety of the studio, the work, or others. In that case, the studio will offer an alternative where one is possible.

7.Deposits, changes and cancellations

The studio asks for at least 72 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Deposits are generally retained if you cancel late or do not show, because the time was reserved for you and cannot be rebooked at short notice.

Cancellations and reschedules made with the required notice may be handled more generously, at the studio's discretion.

The studio may occasionally need to cancel for reasons outside its control, such as illness or an emergency. When this happens, the studio will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule and will offer to transfer the deposit toward a future session.

8.Commissions, pricing and payment

Prices for tattoos, commissions, and physical works are confirmed in writing before work begins, as a deposit for a session or a fixed price for a commission. Unless stated otherwise in writing, a confirmed price is the price of the work described, and it is not a guarantee of the number of hours the work will take.

Payment is due in full on completion unless a written arrangement says otherwise. Work will not be released until the balance has been paid.

Physical originals and prints are one-of-a-kind or limited works. Once a physical work has been delivered or collected, any later claims about its condition should be raised promptly and in writing.

If a commission must be abandoned or substantially changed after work has begun, the studio will explain the position on the deposit as honestly as it can.

9.Online store purchases

Prices in the online store are in Canadian dollars. Applicable sales taxes and shipping charges are shown at checkout before you pay. An order is accepted when the studio sends the order confirmation email; the studio may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if an item is unavailable or was listed at an obvious pricing error.

Payment is taken at checkout by the payment provider shown there. The studio does not receive or store your full card number.

Printed products such as prints, apparel and accessories are made to order by the studio's print-on-demand partner and shipped directly to you. Production and delivery times shown in the store are estimates. Colours on screen can differ slightly from the printed result.

Because printed products are made for each order, they cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind. If an item arrives damaged, defective or different from what you ordered, contact the studio within 30 days of delivery with a photo, and the studio will arrange a replacement or a refund.

Digital downloads are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. Buying a download does not transfer the copyright in the artwork, and files may not be resold, shared or reproduced for sale. Once a file has been downloaded it cannot be returned, but the studio will replace a file that is faulty.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights and warranties you have under Québec's Consumer Protection Act or any other law that applies to your purchase.

10.Artistic results and expectations

Tattooing, painting, and illustration are creative disciplines. The studio sets and follows professional standards, but the appearance of a finished piece depends on the body, skin, and placement involved, and on how the work heals. The studio cannot guarantee an exact result that has not been agreed in writing, nor that a healed tattoo will look identical to the drawing.

Free touch-ups are offered where the Client Center says so, and only for work performed by this studio, within the stated period, and where after instructions were followed. Touch-ups do not apply to new designs, additions, or work done elsewhere.

11.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the studio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or from any service provided, including lost profits, loss of opportunity, or damage to property. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

The studio is not responsible for the contents of external websites, for the acts of third parties, or for losses arising from your decision to share personal or sensitive information with a third party rather than with the studio.

The content of this website, including colours and the appearance of artwork in photographs, is provided as-is. Screens and devices render colour differently, so the colours you see online may not match the physical work exactly.

12.Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the studio against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of this site, your use of the studio's artwork in a way not permitted here, or any claim made by a third party in connection with your use of the studio's services.

14.Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site, the law, or the studio's practices change. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.

15.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Québec. Any dispute arising from these terms or from services provided by the studio will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Québec, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Questions about these terms?

If anything on this page is unclear, or you would like these terms explained before booking, get in touch through the contact form and I will get back to you. I would rather answer a question up front than have it cause a problem later.
